STUDIO INFOMRATION AND POLICIES CLASS CANCELLATION In event of inclement weather, the studio will close during this time for your safety. Cancellations will be determined by. 2:00 p.m. of the day in question. Please check our Website at www.khdanceworks.com or call the studio. Classes are not necessarily canceled when school has been canceled. Kim Hohman's Dance Works has no control over the weather, two cancellations per night may be made before classes will be made up. CLASSROOM ATTIRE All students must wear proper dance attire and appropriate shoes. Hair is to be secured away from the face. The teacher must be able to see the dancers body to enable correct alignment and placement of the dancer. Boys should wear T-shirt and shorts, no jeans. NO unnecessary jewelry should be worn. Absolutely no street shoes are to be worn on the dance floor. / PARENT OBSERVATION 'We w ill have special classroom visits for parents. We will let you know when these will be held. HOLIDAYS The studio will only be closed for Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break and Spring Break. ATTENDANCE Attendance is taken at each class and recognition is given at the end of the year for dancers not missing any classes (stu d ents can miss two classes due to school program or family obligation and still be recognized). Good attendance is imperative, as absences and tardiness can hold back the entire class. Please .make every effort to have your child at every class. GENERAL GUIDELINES Class size and level will be determined by the teacher. During the first several weeks it may be necessary for your child to be switched to a different class, you will be notified if we think this is in the student's best interest. Please arrive only 10 minutes before class and pick students up promptly after class. We cannot be responsible for children left un-attended outside the dance rooms . Students are to wait inside the lobby for their ride. No gum or candy permitted in the classrooms. All drinks and food is to be kept in the dining area. Be sure to label all belongings with students name . We can not be responsible for lost or stolen items. As a courtesy to our parents, a monthly newsletter will be passed out the first full week of classes each month. Please read these for important information. TUITION Tuition is accepted by cash, check (payable to Kim Hohman), or credit card (VISA and MasterCard). Tuition is due the first full week of every month. Dance is a 36 week program, tuition remains the same whether it is a long (5-week) or short (3~week) month, regardless of absences, sickness, and cancellations due to inclement weather. You will be charged' until Written notice of class cancellation is received. No refunds or credits will be given for classes missed. The school reserves the right to modify class schedule as deemed necessary. Please note a $10 late fee will be strictly enforced if tuition is not paid the first full week of the month. In the event of a check being returned, there will' be a $25.00 bookkeeping charge: Fees can be paid as follows: Annually, at the first lesson in September, with a 5% discount. Tri-Annually, at the first lesson in September, December, and March with a 4% discount. Monthly, due the first full week of the month. |

RECITAL - The recital and rehearsals will be held at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center, recital will be on Saturday, May 23, 2009 . Rehearsal times to be announced. Please refer to the monthly newsletters for more information. COSTUMES - We try our best to keep your costume . costs down. If your child is in more than one dance in the recital you can count on $50-60 per costume. Cost· may go slightly higher for competition dancers and Older dancers. There are' also other items you will need to purchase such as tights, ribbons, gloves, make-up, and sometimes alterations. Creative Movement classes will only have one costume. A costume fundraiser is held in the fall. This is optional, but for many it covers most of the fees. COSTUME DEPOSIT - We require a $25 costume deposit per costume be made with your October tuition payment with a second $25 deposit due with December tuition payment. Costumes will be ordered the 1 st of December and must be paid in full by March. If you drop a class before costumes are ordered, your deposit will be refunded in full, .if you drop after costumes are ordered Y0 u will lose your deposit and will be required to pay the balance due on costumes. GRANDE FINALE - The finale is a very important . part of our show and we feel that this is important to the students as well. This is the only time we get to see all of our dancers together. Finale outflts can range from $15-$30. Order forms will be passed out in the fall and the spring. VIDEO TAPING - Video taping during our recital is not allowed. The recital will be taped using professional equipment and copies will be available at reasonable cost. Still pictures are allowed, however no flash pictures will be permitted during the performance.
